January 1993 – March 2022

LOCATION

Mickey’s Toontown – When entering from Fantasyland, follow the main pathway toward Toontown City Hall, and you’d see Daisy’s Diner on the left, across from the 5 and Dime.

EXPERIENCE

Guests looking for a quick bite to eat in Mickey’s Toontown needed look no further than the plaza in front of City Hall. The restaurants in this area were all quick service dining options, with a shared patio that overlooks the heart of the town center.

CLOSURE

In November 2021, Disneyland announced plans to redesign Mickey’s Toontown with a few goals in mind. First, to build a new headline attraction (the Runaway Railway). Second, to provide more rest areas for families. And third, to lean into the “play” aspect of the land and make every feature as interactive (and accessible) as possible. The Diner closed alongside the land in March 2022, and was rethemed into an expanded Cafe Daisy upon reopening in March 2023.

TRIVIA

My original rating: Daisy’s Diner specializes in pizza, and not much else. The eateries surrounding Toontown City Hall all generally offer one food item, and Daisy’s is the local pizza joint. Guests have a choice between pepperoni or cheese pizza, and both are average at best. Even so, sitting down on the patio overlooking Toontown with some pizza is not a bad way to spend the afternoon! If you’re looking for something other than pizza, you won’t find a lot of variety on the menu. But if you’re in the mood for some pizza and a view of Toontown, Daisy’s Diner has you covered. (★☆☆☆☆)

Like many buildings in Disneyland, Daisy’s Diner used forced perspective (explanation here) to look taller. Look closely at the upstairs windows and you’d notice how small they are.

During the holidays, Daisy hung a wreath and garland from the roof of the diner.
