LOCATION
Mickey’s Toontown – When you arrived in Toontown, head to the central “downtown” area, near City Hall. You’d see Clarabelle’s Frozen Yogurt on your left, next to Pluto’s Dog House and Daisy’s Diner.
EXPERIENCE
Clarabelle’s Frozen Yogurt was Toontown’s dessert spot, offering a variety of ice creams and souvenir sippers. If you wanted a meal before you have dessert, Clarabelle’s also offered a turkey sandwich or salad options. This quick service restaurant sat in the plaza alongside City Hall, and had seating on the shared patio that overlooked the heart of the town center.
CLOSURE
In November 2021, Disneyland announced plans to redesign Mickey’s Toontown with a few goals in mind. First, to build a new headline attraction (the Runaway Railway). Second, to provide more rest areas for families. And third, to lean into the “play” aspect of the land and make every feature as interactive (and accessible) as possible. Clarabelle’s closed alongside the land in March 2022, and was incorporated into Cafe Daisy upon reopening in March 2023.
TRIVIA
My original rating: Calling this place a frozen yogurt spot is definitely a misnomer, because Clarabelle’s sells a yogurt parfait, not frozen yogurt. This stand does have the biggest menu in Toontown (3 meals and 4 desserts), and the best food, but it’s still not a great place to eat. If you’re in Toontown and hungry, this is your best option, unless you want to head into another land. (★★☆☆☆)
Don’t confuse Clarabelle’s Frozen Yogurt with Clarabelle’s Hand Scooped Ice Cream, a separate ice cream parlor on Buena Vista Street.
Like most of the buildings in the park, Clarabelle’s Frozen Yogurt used forced perspective to seem taller. Pay attention to the slanted windows, and you’d see that the second floor is way too small, even for a toon.
