Welcome to Ask The Duchess Vol. 18, a monthly Q&A post covering a variety of resort-related topics. Ask The Duchess answers questions submitted by readers. If you have a question you’d like answered, send me a message here!

1. Is there Starbucks at Disneyland? (submitted by Carrie)

Yes! There are 4 locations: two in Downtown Disney (one on the east side and one on the west side), one in Disneyland (Market House), and one in California Adventure (Fiddler, Fifer, & Practical Café).

2. Is World of Color worth a dining package? (submitted by Michael)

YES! Absolutely. If you want to watch the show, a dining package is the way to do it. It’s one of my favorite Disney shows, so I’d definitely recommend it. One piece of advice: bring layers, even in the summer. It gets FREEZING when the mist from the fountains sets in the air.

3. Where is Trader Sam’s Tiki Bar?

Trader Sam’s is inside the Disneyland Hotel. If you’re headed to the bar from the park gates, walk all the way through Downtown Disney. Cross the street next to Earl of Sandwich and the ESPN Zone, and walk under the sorcerer hat into the Disneyland Hotel grounds. When the path splits, turn left. Follow the left pathway around the small hut (that’s the back of the Tiki Bar). You’ll see a fireplace and cushy couches on the left, and stairs up to the patio and interior bar on the right. Both of these spaces belong to Trader Sam!

4. Is there still a restaurant to get a loaded baked potato in the park?

Yes! Swing by Troubadour Tavern. Note: this restaurant is at the entrance to the Fantasyland Theatre, but you don’t have to go in or see a show to visit the tavern.

5. Is there anything that would be standard on most “oh you HAVE to do this” lists that you actually think is overrated/I shouldn’t bother with?

I don’t get the obsession with Dole Whip. And the line is almost always VERY long! …Am I the only Disney parks fan that doesn’t like it? Haha.

    • If you stand in the first two rows, you will definitely get wet. Otherwise, you’ll probably just get misted. There are signs clearly marking the wet zone in the fast pass area, so it’s easy to avoid!
