Welcome to Ask The Duchess Vol. 20, a monthly Q&A post covering a variety of resort-related topics. Ask The Duchess answers questions submitted by readers. If you have a question you’d like answered, send me a message here!

1. What is the difference between Casey Jr. and the Canal Boats, just the vehicles? (submitted by Deanna)

Yes and no. They cover similar ground, but Casey Jr. is much higher up so it definitely has a different focus. The Canal Boats have narration and get you really close to each scene, so it’s more about storytelling. Casey Jr. is more of a generic train ride, and it’s harder to see detail in the scenes since you’re higher and traveling a bit faster.

2. How is this Adventureland restructure going to work? (submitted by Angelina)

The shops on the northern side of Adventureland (the Outpost and Bazaar) will become stroller parking areas, completely clearing up the stroller mess in the middle of the walkway. Bengal Barbecue will get more seating in that area as well, clearing up the space in front of Indiana Jones. Finally, Tropical Imports will be moving over by Bengal Barbecue, though I’m not sure if that space will also become stroller parking or will be used for something else. I can’t wait for the stroller parking, but I hope that Shrunken Ned survives!

3. If I want to buy a large souvenir that won’t fit in my suitcase, can I ship it? (submitted by Adriana)

Yes! If you find an item you want, discuss your options with a cast member. Depending on the size, fragility, etc., they will walk you through shipping or online ordering options.

4. How’s Disneyland’s wifi? (submitted by Michael)

The wifi is brand new, and actually hasn’t “formally” been rolled out yet. It’s worked ok for me so far, but I know for a lot of people it has been fairly spotty. And of course, during the fireworks/parades, it grinds to a halt because so many people are live streaming!

5. How did you come up with the name for your blog? (submitted by Jose)

Anyone who has made a blog before would probably understand the struggle…coming up with a name was SO HARD! After tons and tons of brainstorming plays on Disney phrases, nothing really worked. So I just wrote out a huge list of things I like or find interesting, and on that list was the Duchess of Cambridge. I thought, hey, Disneyland has plenty of princesses, but I don’t know of any duchesses!

  1. I am happy you shout out the storybook boats because I am legit obsessed with them. OP – you gotta go on!
