November 2006 – present
Downtown Disney – Disney Vault 28’s spot is one of the busiest in the district; right at the central circle plaza. You’ll find the Vault just as the circle opens up for the Uva Bar, across from Build-A-Bear Workshop.
- Merchandise – primarily women’s clothing and accessories, limited merchandise for men and children
- Price Range – The Vault tends to sell pricier Disney merch, including Dooney & Burke bags and Vera Bradley. Most shirts are over $40 at this store, and most accessories over $100.
- Unique Features – brick pillars and faux vault door at entrance
Disney Vault 28 is Downtown Disney’s #1 spot for Disney fashionistas. This spot carries all of Disney’s designer collaborations, trendier pieces, and exclusive merchandise unavailable in stores like World of Disney. If you’re looking for magical additions to your closet during your trip to the Disneyland Resort, make sure to stop by the Vault.
I faced serious disappointment this first time I went into this store, because I thought it sold Disney movies that were out of the vault! Nope. It’s a clothing store. That being said, their clothes are fairly unique, and hard to find in other resort shops. The store itself is fairly small for Downtown Disney, so it tends to feel crowded. To avoid crowding, my advice would be to visit during the fireworks, since a lot of shoppers hop out of the stores to watch from the plaza.
The number 28 comes from the year 1928, when Mickey Mouse made his debut in Steamboat Willie.
There is a hidden Mickey on the vault at the front of the store. Can you find it?
The patio above Disney Vault 28 is part of Catal Restaurant.
