Today is a big day for pin traders at Disneyland…it’s the start of Disney Pin Quest!
What is Pin Quest, you ask?
Disney Pin Quest is part scavenger hunt, part pin trading madness. The event launched in Walt Disney World a few months ago, and now the adventure has reached the west coast. Disneyland players can purchase clue cards, which provide hints for the locations of the elusive event pins. Once you collect all six, you are eligible to purchase the ultimate prize: the QuestEAR pin!
To play Pin Quest, you need to buy your starter kit, called an “Adventure Pack”. The pack includes a lanyard, a pouch to store your clue cards, and a special park map. You can then purchase as many of the clue cards as you want (there are 6 in total). One important thing to know: Disney Pin Quest is not cheap. If you purchase the adventure pack, all 6 clue cards, and the final pin, you’re going to spend about $80 (annual pass holders do get a discount).
You can purchase everything you need for Pin Quest at the following locations:
- Critter Country: Pooh’s Corner
- Fantasyland: It’s A Small World gift shop
- Frontierland: Westward Ho Trading Co.
- Main Street USA: 20th Century Music Company
- New Orleans Square: Pieces of Eight shop
- Tomorrowland: Toy Story gift shop (next to Buzz Lightyear)
Each clue card leads you to a new pin. When you find the location, a cast member will tear your ticket and you’ll receive your shiny new prize. As you progress through the quest, your lanyard becomes your trophy case. Once you’ve completed the quest, visit any of these Pin locations to purchase your final pin. If you can count yourself among the lucky few to complete the quest, you’ll have an exclusive souvenir that will last a lifetime!

This looks fun, but $80 is a lot.
I agree, Amanda. It is a lot. But Disney pins tend to run about $8-15 apiece, so you’re basically just paying for the price of the limited edition pins. If you’re a pin collector, it’s worth the price. If you care more about the scavenger hunt aspect, it’s a little much.
