Disneyland is full of tiny magical creatures, from Tinkerbell and her friends to Jiminy Cricket and Timothy Q. Mouse. But did you know the park has its own leprechaun? Meet the Little Man of Disneyland!
Patrick Begorra is a leprechaun from Disney’s Little Golden Books series. Patrick lived in an orange tree until the day he met Mickey, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto. His new friends wanted to build a magical place called Disneyland, and Patrick agreed…so long as he could have his own house hidden within the park.
To find Patrick’s home, head to Adventureland, and stand to the right of the entrance to Indiana Jones Adventure. Look closely at the base of the tree (next to the sign), and you’ll see a tiny cottage built into the tree. This tiny cottage is home to the park’s first resident: The Little Man of Disneyland.
I am 61 years old and I had that book when I was little. I did not know his place is still there! I am going to Disneyland soon and will be looking for that tree. Thank you for the information!
You’re welcome! It’s such a fun little detail.
That is so cute! I’m surprised I haven’t heard that story before. Do you know if they have something similar at Disney World?
I genuinely have no idea! I’m not super well-versed in Disney World. You could check with my friend Adrianne at wdwbound.com. She might know!
That reminds me of a fairy garden!
You’re so right, Joele! My mom has a fairy garden door on a tree in the backyard, and it definitely reminds me of Patrick’s home.
