Welcome to Ask The Duchess – Vol. 103, a monthly Q&A post covering a variety of resort-related topics. Ask The Duchess answers questions submitted by readers. If you have a question you’d like answered, send me a message here.
1. Can I bring a backpack into the park? (submitted by Georgia)
Yes, so long as it’s standard size or smaller (24” long, 15” wide, 18” high). Oversized bags, camping bags, etc. are not permitted past security.
2. Is Lightning Lane available for parade or fireworks seating? (submitted by Sunitha)
Nope, unless you have some kind of a VIP experience/reserved seat, those are first-come, first-serve.
3. How do I get from the Monorail station to the park entrance? (submitted by Eleanor)
There are two different Monorail stations so there are two different ways to get to the park entrance. The station in Tomorrowland is the closest; you walk past the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage and Matterhorn, turn left onto Main Street, and follow the road to its end (the entrance). The other station is in Downtown Disney; you just walk straight all the way through the district, and the park entrances will be at the end.
4. Is Disneyland foggy? (submitted by Doug)
Sometimes it will be a little foggy in the early morning, and occasionally in the last hour or so before park close. I love it when it’s foggy – I think the park looks so cool.
5. Do I get my money back if it rains during my trip and some rides are closed? (submitted by Kathleen)
Nope. Disneyland tickets are rain or shine. Don’t worry about it though – rainy days are often the best days with the lightest wait times!
