Welcome to Ask The Duchess – Vol. 104, a monthly Q&A post covering a variety of resort-related topics. Ask The Duchess answers questions submitted by readers. If you have a question you’d like answered, send me a message here.
1. Do single rider lines close even when the ride is open? (submitted by Kendra)
Sometimes yes, either because the line is short or they are short on staff. If you’re unsure from looking at the entrance, just ask the nearest cast member if it’s open.
2. What’s the best way for my daughter to meet princesses? (submitted by Juana)
Either book a character dining experience with the princesses or visit the Royal Hall. At the Royal Hall, you’ll wait in one line and see multiple princesses.
3. Crowds aside, what’s the best time of the year to visit Disneyland weather-wise? (submitted by Zria)
Early spring (March – April) and late fall (October – November) are nice and warm during the day and cool at night without getting too extreme on either side of the temperature scale. And there’s not a huge chance of rain in either time period!
4. Can I give my Lightning Lane to a friend? (submitted by James)
Unfortunately no – yet another thing I miss about paper fast passes. Your Lightning Lane is restricted to just you/your account.
5. Which of the resort hotels is closest to the parks? (submitted by Ashleigh)
The Grand Californian is closest, but the other two are not dramatically further behind. The Grand Californian also has a private entrance for hotel guests that drops you right into Grizzly Peak, which is quite close to the front of the park!
