Welcome to Ask The Duchess Vol. 37, a monthly Q&A post covering a variety of resort-related topics. Ask The Duchess answers questions submitted by readers. If you have a question you’d like answered, send me a message here!
1. Where can I meet Mickey and Minnie in California Adventure? (submitted by Gloria)
Buena Vista Street! They hang out on the street in their finest dapper attire, along with Daisy, Donald, and Goofy. (Pluto prefers Grizzly Peak most days)
2. Is California Adventure considered its own park, or is it part of Disneyland? (submitted by Raymond)
California Adventure is its own park. It’s one of two parks within the Disneyland Resort, the other being Disneyland. (Downtown Disney is also considered part of the Disneyland Resort, along with the 3 hotels!)
3. What Disney ride are you most terrified of? (submitted by Chad)
Even though it’s not at the resort anymore, the Tower of Terror. I don’t think any ride will ever match its evil genius.
4. Is the Grand Californian part of a park? (submitted by Joey)
Not technically. Officially, the three resort hotels fall under the Downtown Disney district. However, the Grand Californian is visible and accessible from Grizzly Peak, and GC guests have a private entrance to California Adventure.
5. If you could put a Disneyland-unique attraction in every park around the world, what would it be and why? (submitted by Miguel)
Such a hard question! If I can be as broad as a land, I think every resort should have a Cars Land somewhere. It’s just incredible. As for an individual attraction, I’d vote for Indiana Jones Adventure. The detail in that ride, from the queue to each room, is so impressive.
