Welcome to Ask The Duchess β Vol. 44, a monthly Q&A post covering a variety of resort-related topics. Ask The Duchess answers questions submitted by readers. If you have a question youβd like answered, send me a message here.
1.Β Best quick service spot for just a good sandwich? Other than Earl of Sandwich of course. (submitted by Mabel)
In Disneyland, I love the Carnation CafΓ©. In California Adventure, Iβd recommend Smokejumpers Grill. And in Downtown Disney, I am a huge fan of Uva Barβs sandwiches!
2.Β Are high heels allowed in Disneyland? (submitted by Stephenie)
They are, but I would STRONGLY discourage you from wearing them. You will spend all day and night standing or walking. It’s a lot in comfortable shoes.
3.Β Do I need the Disneyland app for my trip, or can I get by without it? (submitted by Gary)
You can absolutely get by without it, but itβll make your life so much easier. You can see attraction wait times, view menus/order food/modify dining reservations, view performance showtimes, and book and access fast passes.
4.Β Can I load my Disneyland tickets and fast passes onto my Disney World magic band? (submitted by Marianne)
Nope, the parks run on different systems, and Disneyland doesnβt currently support magic bands.
5.Β Iβve never been to Disneyland before. Iβm seeing that there are two βparksβ, but then a ton of different areas called βlandsβ. Do I purchase tickets based on the park I want to visit, or the land? How do I visit each part of the resort? (submitted by Ryan)
The Disneyland Resort has two parks, and each park has mini areas dubbed βlandsβ. You need a ticket to visit one park, or a βhopperβ ticket, which allows you to access both parks on the same day. Lands are not gated and donβt require any sort of ticket; you can roam freely throughout the park once youβre through the gates.
