Welcome to Ask The Duchess – Vol. 46, a monthly Q&A post covering a variety of resort-related topics. Ask The Duchess answers questions submitted by readers. If you have a question you’d like answered, send me a message here.
1. Do Disneyland and California Adventure open and close at the same time? (submitted by Ed)
Almost never, actually! Park hours change daily, but California Adventure almost always opens later and closes earlier than Disneyland. For hours during your visit, check out the official calendar here.
2. Am I allowed to bring a drone into the park? I want to shoot some views of the Rivers of America. (submitted by Jordan)
Nope, drones are strictly prohibited from both parks and from Downtown Disney.
3. When you personally visit the resort, do you actually hang out in Downtown Disney? Or do most regulars just stick to the parks? (submitted by Joanne)
Well I can’t speak for other frequent visitors, but I almost ALWAYS spend time in Downtown Disney. One of my favorite places is Uva Bar – I love to grab a drink & a light dinner while doing some people watching. I also always have to visit World of Disney and the Disney Dress Shop to see what’s new. And finally, no trip is complete without a cake pop from Marceline’s!
4. Where is the LEGO store? (submitted by Aimee)
The LEGO Store is on the western side of Downtown Disney, by the hotels. If you walk through Downtown Disney, toward the Disneyland Hotel, you’ll cross over a pedestrian bridge after passing Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen. You’ll see the LEGO store on your left, across from the Monorail station.
5. Do you have any recommendations for a place to just sit down and relax in the parks, other than like a bench in the middle of a busy area? (submitted by Chad)
Yes! See my post here for a list.
