Welcome to Ask The Duchess – Vol. 73, a monthly Q&A post covering a variety of resort-related topics. Ask The Duchess answers questions submitted by readers. If you have a question you’d like answered, send me a message here.
1. When I buy a one-day ticket, do I have to go to the park on any date, or do I have to pick the date when I purchase? (submitted by Gemma)
Currently, 1-day tickets are date specific. You’ll choose the date when you buy your ticket and make a reservation for that date as part of the ticket purchasing process.
2. Is Genie+ included in the price of my ticket? (submitted by Christina)
No, but you can purchase Genie+ when you purchase your ticket.
3. Where can I find allergy information for the restaurants? (submitted by Alex)
Most Disneyland restaurants have an allergy-friendly version of the menu. Check out this page for info about allergy-friendly options, ordering meals to meet your needs, and more.
4. If it’s raining, I know some rides close. Do they extend park hours or give you another day ticket to make up for it? (submitted by Daniel)
Nope, weather is unfortunately a gamble. Thankfully in Southern California, rainy weather almost never lasts all day. But if it does rain, enjoy the shorter lines – that’s your only compensation for the weather!
5. I have never been to Disneyland – what’s the tram like between parks? Is it similar to Florida? (submitted by Mary)
Not AT ALL. In Disneyland, the Monorail is a scenic way to get from Tomorrowland to Downtown Disney – it’s not a true transportation system like in Walt Disney World. Thankfully, the Disneyland Resort is much more walkable. The entrances to Disneyland, California Adventure, and Downtown Disney all face each other, forming a central promenade.
