Welcome to Ask The Duchess – Vol. 91, a monthly Q&A post covering a variety of resort-related topics. Ask The Duchess answers questions submitted by readers. If you have a question you’d like answered, send me a message here.

1. If I have to cancel a planned Disneyland trip, can I change the name on the ticket and give it to someone else? (submitted by Cara)

Unfortunately, no. Disney is quite explicit about their tickets being non-transferrable.

2. Is Disneyland going to bring back the diamond castle decor for the 70th next year? (submitted by John)

I highly doubt it, since the 60th was the “diamond jubilee” celebration. I’m sure there will be some kind of special decor for the 70th, and if I had to guess, something even bigger for the 75th.

3. How do I reserve a time on the Monorail? (submitted by Barbara)

You don’t! The Monorail runs all day long, so you just get in line at either of the two stops when you want to ride and wait for the next available one. There’s no option to reserve a time slot at either location.

4. Do the Disneyland ducks get named by cast members? (submitted by Gia)

Not to my knowledge – but it’s possible some cast members give a few of them nicknames I’m just not aware of 🙂

5. If you had Imagineering’s ear, what ride would you tell them needs the most attention? (submitted by Kim)

Indiana Jones. It’s possible the way it was designed makes serious repairs impossible without building it from scratch again – I genuinely don’t know anything about how it works. But it goes down constantly, and more often than not, some effects aren’t working or shut off when it is operating. It’s ridiculous for such a major ride in the park.
