July 1955 – present
LOCATION
Adventureland – The Bazaar sits right at the front of Adventureland, so it’s hard to miss. When you cross the bridge from Main Street USA, you’ll see it on your right, across from the Jungle Cruise exit.
EXPERIENCE
Details:
- Merchandise – Clothes, sunglasses, Disney toys and accessories
- Prince Range – Huge range from toys under $10 to pricier clothing items over $100
- Unique Features – Shrunken Ned, Aladdin’s Other Lamp
Adventureland Bazaar is one of the only Disney shops to also sell non-Disney merchandise. Choose from a wide selection of tropical clothing, sunglasses, and Disney plush toys, or swing by the pressed penny machines for an Adventureland souvenir.
SHOPPING TIPS
Since this store is so open, it rarely gets congested and difficult to navigate. But I’d avoid this area in general during the fireworks; tons of guests stand on the Adventureland bridge to watch the show, so you’ll probably get trapped within the crowd.
TRIVIA
In a 1978 article from the Disneyland Line newsletter, Adventureland Merchandising Buyers Donna Scarnecchia and Susan Cleave said they goal of the shop was to “make guests feel they’re actually shopping in the Far East, India, or Hawaii.”
The Bazaar was the only Adventureland shop to survive the 2017 reorganization of the land. The other stores closed to make space for Bengal Barbecue’s dining room, and additional stroller parking.
I would like to buy a mens hat that I saw in this gift shop, can i purchase it online?
Hi Joel! shopDisney.com is your best bet. They don’t have everything available in the parks, but it’s currently the only way to get parks merchandise online. Hope that helps.
