The Disney Princess Fantasy Faire, located off Main Street USA, is one of the most detailed and beautiful areas in the park. With its lively shows, souvenir carts, and princesses roaming the square, details within the Fantasy Faire are easy to miss. But attentive guests can find a hidden gem right in the heart of the square: Clopin’s Music Box.
Clopin’s Music Box sits beneath the overhang of the center building, to the left of the Royal Hall entrance. When you find the music box, turn the crank to watch the scenery come to life.
At the turn of the crank, the music box plays “Topsy Turvy” from The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Clopin (the jester), the villagers, and Quasimodo move to the music, and the sun rises and sets in the background. Clopin’s Music Box mirrors the gothic charm of Fantasyland, and its exterior pays tribute to Fantasyland’s original Renaissance fair style décor.
Next time you’re in the Fantasy Faire, take a moment to interact with the music box; this hidden gem is a unique feature in an already magical part of the park.
This movie had a huge part in kicking off my goth phase 🖤 I lived in So. Cal until ’05 and had been to Disneyland more times than the law should allow and I hate that I never knew this was there in Fantasyland! The exterior on it is GORGEOUS 😍
Is this the only Hunchback of Notre Dame detail in the park?
As far as I know. There used to be a live show as well in the 90s!
