I write a lot about “hidden gems” on this blog: little details to find around the park. Some take on a life of their own, and most guests spot them right away. But others remain very, very hidden. Perhaps the most secretive hidden gem in the entire resort is the hidden Pascal.
Remember Pascal, Rapunzel’s chameleon companion in Tangled? His constantly changing color makes him the perfect hide-and-seek player, and he uses those skills to the fullest at Disneyland. To find him, start at the central hub in front of the castle. Turn left, toward the Fantasy Faire, but keep right on the path toward the castle instead of entering the Faire.
See that round platform jetting out on the left? Look closely underneath, where the slanted rock meets the platform above. There you’ll find a sneaky little critter hiding in the shadows.
If you ever want to genuinely impress someone with your Disneyland knowledge, show them the hidden Pascal. Even standing right in front of the rock, my mother couldn’t spot him. I don’t think I know of a more hidden gem than this one. This is a perfect example of why I love Disneyland so much. Even though almost nobody ever notices him, they still went the extra mile and tucked Pascal in the shadows, waiting for us to find him.
