LOCATION

Bayou Country โ€“ Youโ€™ll find Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree along Bayou Countryโ€™s waterfront, right between the pathways to Galaxyโ€™s Edge and New Orleans Square. You canโ€™t miss it if you just keep walking along the rivers of America; itโ€™s the big rustic building with a ramped entrance.

EXPERIENCE

Details:

  • Service Typeโ€“ quick service
  • Seatingโ€“ two levels of outdoor dining
  • Reservationsโ€“ no
  • Entertainmentโ€“ none
  • Menu

Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree is Bayou Countryโ€™s comfort food spot, with a variety of casual barbecue dishes. Diners can enjoy their meals on the extensive patio seating area, watching the occasional passing boats on the east side and trains on the west side.

MY RATING โ€“ โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜†

This is not life-changing barbecue by any means, but I think the food options here are solid. I actually think the food is a little better than when this was just the Hungry Bear Restaurant by theming. Itโ€™s also an excellent place to sit down and relax for a while, especially if you walk all the way to the end of the upstairs patio, where itโ€™s usually pretty quiet.

MY FAVORITES

  • BBQ pulled pork sandwich
  • Churro funnel fries

TRIVIA

Hungry Bear BBQ Jamboree’s name pays tribute to the Country Bear Jamboree, a fan-favorite former attraction when the land was known as Bear Country.

The downstairs bathrooms are named after different characters from the Country Bear Jamboree, Trixie and Gomer.

If you visit the still standing Country Bear Jamboree in the Magic Kingdom (Florida), you may spot a napkin on display while in line for the show. This is a napkin from the last version of this restaurantโ€™s theming, the Hungry Bear Restaurant, with notes from performer Henry on updating the show.
