Disneyland’s Critter Country is a land for all kinds of woodland creatures, but its most notable resident is definitely Winnie the Pooh. Pooh and friends have their own attraction, shop, and lots of little hidden tributes scattered throughout the forest.
As you exit Winnie the Pooh’s ride, look to your left. See that sign?
Pooh Stix Bridge is a nod to Poohsticks, a game featured in the Winnie the Pooh book series. Each player drops a stick on the upstream side of the bridge. The first stick the current carries to the other side of the bridge wins! This game has actually become a real event, with the annual Poohsticks Championships held in the UK each year.
The current beneath Pooh Stix Bridge doesn’t flow quickly enough for much of a game, but the little walkway pays tribute to a classic game from Hundred Acre Wood.
I wanted to tell you that I never thought much of Critter Country. But you’ve had a lot of posts about hidden things inside this area and I have a new appreciation for it. So thank you!
That makes me so happy to hear! Critter Country is such a cute land. 🙂
