September 1978 – present
LOCATION
Frontierland – When you enter from the main entrance off of Main Street USA, you’ll find the Stage Door Café on your left, around the corner from the Golden Horseshoe. If you enter Frontierland from New Orleans Square or Adventureland, you’ll find the Stage Door Café on your right, just after the River Belle Terrace patio.
EXPERIENCE
Details:
- Service Type – quick service
- Seating – outdoor patio
- Reservations – no
- Entertainment – none
- Menu
The Stage Door Café is a quick-service saloon located right on Frontierland’s waterfront. Guests can choose from several snack and drink options, and the café offers plenty of seating on an adjacent patio overlooking the Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island.
MY RATING – ★★☆☆☆
The Stage Door Café has very few options for food, and all of its dining options are extremely heavy, greasy foods. If you want a quick snack and a place to sit by the water, the Café is a decent option. But I’d recommend grabbing food in the Golden Horseshoe instead; you can always bring your food to the Stage Door Café’s patio if you want a scenic view.
MY FAVORITES
- Chicken Breast Nuggets
TRIVIA
Though the Stage Door Cafe sits in the same building as the Golden Horseshoe, the two are considered separate dining spots in Frontierland.
The Stage Door Cafe opened in 1978, replacing the Oaks Tavern. The Oaks Tavern, a similar quick-service dining option that opened in 1956, was a “dry” tavern that served comfort food and soft drinks.
