July 1967 – September 2000, November 2006 – November 2015
LOCATION
Tomorrowland – When entering from Main Street USA, guests would follow the main path and keep left. You’d find the Terrace on your left, just around the corner from the Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters building. If you were coming from Fantasyland, you’d head toward the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage, and the Terrace would be straight ahead.
EXPERIENCE
Hungry Tomorrowland guests flocked to the Terrace for food, entertainment, and to enjoy the sights of the area. The Terrace offered a variety of quick service snacks and meals, as well as a number of tasty desserts. Guests could sit at central tables and watch the Jedi Training Academy, or find seating at the side tables for a quieter view of the rear of Tomorrowland. Thanks to its central location, Tomorrowland Terrace boasted a panoramic view of the Matterhorn, the Submarine Voyage, and the Monorail. Whether you were looking for dinner and a show or just stopping by for a drink in a souvenir sipper, Tomorrowland Terrace had something for everyone.
CLOSURE
Tomorrowland Terrace didn’t really close – it changed names. It’s not even quite right to say it had a “re-theme”, since the decor remains largely unchanged. However, the menu items did go through a bit of a Star Wars theming and the new eating area started offering a late night menu, so technically the Terrace “transformed” per Disney parks lingo!
TRIVIA
My original rating: The Tomorrowland Terrace is definitely a fun place to stop and eat, especially if you want to watch the Jedi Training Academy show. I like to stop by the Terrace for a smaller lunch, because I typically order off of the kid’s menu. But the desserts, larger meals, and drink choices are all pretty decent. If you want something other than standard hamburgers and sandwiches, you won’t find much at the Terrace, but if you want to indulge in some comfort food and check out Tomorrowland, the Terrace is a great option. (★★★☆☆)
The Terrace opened as part of the first Tomorrowland expansion in 1967.
From 2000-2005, the Terrace was renamed “Club Buzz”, and had a live stage show featuring Buzz Lightyear and his fellow space cadets. When the Astro Blasters opened in 2006, the restaurant returned to its roots, reopening as the Tomorrowland Terrace once again.
During Mickey’s Halloween Party, the Terrace hosted a dance party, including DJs and exclusive snacks and drinks.
