EXPERIENCE

Details:

  • Merchandise โ€“ Miscellaneous small souvenirs, particularly Davy Crockett merchandise
  • Unique Features โ€“ Antique cabin dรฉcor and furniture above the merchandise shelves

When traveling the wild west in the 1950s, there was no one park guests wanted to see more than Davy Crockett. But if he wasn’t available for meet and greets, buying some of his merch was the next best thing. Frontier Trading post sold hats, shirts, and other frontier-themed souvenirs, capitalizing on the Crockett craze as guests arrived in Frontierland.

CLOSURE

At first, the shop’s “retheming” was much more simply a name change. But in 1999, pin trading truly took off across Disney Parks and the shop formally transformed into an ultimate pin shopping destination. The new name referencing trading could not have been better for a pin shop, and its location extremely close to Main Street’s hub made it easy to get to for traders and collectors alike.

TRIVIA

The shop had an identical Chief to the one on Main Street; he remains today in front of Westward Ho Trading Co.

Toward the end of its run, Frontier Trading Post pivoted from Davy Crockett merchandise to more generic souvenirs, with a particularly broad selection of candies.
