Compared to recent event-packed months, April was actually a little sleepy at the Disneyland Resort. However, the month did still bring some new updates, teasers of what’s coming…and one very bizarre guest incident. Let’s jump right into the recap.
70TH ANNIVERSARY FOODIE GUIDE
As I shared in my recent post, Disneyland turns 70 this summer, and last week Disneyland finally released the official foodie guide for the celebration.

The guide includes a new lineup of dessert parties, new menu items, new popcorn buckets, and all kinds of retro-inspired desserts and treats to celebrate the last 7 decades. While the celebration will last for approximately a year, the items in the foodie guide will be available through the month of July.

FINALLY, MORE RESPONSIBILITY FOR ENGINEERS
When you ride Smuggler’s Run and get stuck in the engineer seat, do you ever feel like you’re doing a lot less than the rest of the riders? Well, that will very shortly no longer be the case. This month, Disney teased that starting in May 2026, a new storyline featuring new Mandalorian missions will become part of the attraction. And for engineers, that means a major new responsibility: communicating with and caring for Grogu.

OTHER UPDATES
On April 12, a guest stripped naked and began climbing Tiana’s Palace, screaming about being Peter Pan and threatening self harm. Tons of video circulated on social media immediately after the incident, and security eventually caught him when he jumped down and started trying to climb a tree in New Orleans Square.
If you’re trying to cut through Cars Land, be warned that the walkway between the land and Avengers Campus is closed for the foreseeable future, as Imagineers prep for the new attractions coming to the area.
And finally, everyone’s favorite plastic dinosaur is coming to California Adventure. For a limited time (beginning June 1), Rex from Toy Story will meet guests in Pixar Pier.
It has been too long since we opened Disneyland to go back and visit. I was hired as a soda jerk at Carnation, but the fry cook they hired wasn’t working out so management moved me there from the fountain. It was fun and I have a lot of fond memories.
Have a grand celebration!
