It’s March folks! And for me, that means I’m ready for spring and sunnier weather…even if the official first day of spring is still more than two weeks away. March also means the Disneyland Resort’s refurbishment season is winding down, and I have to say, this was one of the quietest months I’ve seen at the resort in the while. There wasn’t a ton of drama, developments, or major news breaking – so this post will be a little shorter than my usual monthly recaps.
Let’s take a look back at February at the Disneyland Resort.
WHEN IT RAINS AT DISNEYLAND, IT POURS
Southern California ushered in February with a massive atmospheric river, bringing overwhelming rain across the region. Downpours hammered Disneyland, so much so that the park actually closed a bit early on the 5th.

Guests braved the rain for quieter days in the parks, with cast members warning visitors to rides like It’s A Small World that water was accumulating in the bottom of the boats and their feet would get soaked. This vlog from Fresh Baked! shows what it was like roaming the park during the storm.

And finally, the Disney Parks Blog released this year’s foodie guide for the Food & Wine Festival in California Adventure. Check out the lineup of tasty treats for this year’s spring celebration here.
I loved visiting Disneyland in the rain when the annual passes first came out… Space Mountain and Indiana Jones and Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion with no lines all day! In the years leading up to COVID tho it seemed that the secret had gotten out about rain days at Disneyland and the park began to get crowded. By the looks of the video it’s not as crowded as a regular Tuesday but that’s way more people than used to show up on rain days.
Same here – rainy days used to be ghost towns in the BEST way. Absolutely not the case anymore!
