I am so, so happy it’s March. This winter has been really brutal for me (and I’m sure many of you), and I’m so anxiously awaiting sunshine, warmer weather, and just the energy of spring!
in February, the Disneyland Resort didn’t show much winter gloom. With celebrations, new happenings, and a sneak peek at what’s coming next, the happiest place on earth kept the energy going all month long. Let’s take a quick look back at February across the resort.
CALIFORNIA ADVENTURE TURNS 25
On February 8, California Adventure and Downtown Disney celebrated the 25th anniversary of their grand opening. Disneyland’s sister park celebrated with new merchandise, limited time treats, and some goodies all across the park:
- Soarin’ Over California – returning to the park February 6 to July 1
- Schmoozies – enjoy a cake shake from February 6 to 15
- Elias & Co., Gone Hollywood, and Seaside Souvenirs – shop a collection of 25th anniversary apparel, including three collectible pins
- Storytellers Cafe – meet Humphrey the Bear during character dining starting February 6
- Acorn Gifts & Goods – a Grand Californian 25th anniversary pin available for purchase, while supplies last
The park is so, so dramatically different from how it looked 25 years ago. It might be even more unrecognizable when it turns 50!

THE SEAHAWKS CELEBRATE THEIR SUPERBOWL WIN
As a Patriots fan, this one is tough to write about. But the Seattle Seahawks continued the longstanding tradition of celebrating their big win at the happiest place on earth after winning the Superbowl February 8. Kenneth Walker III and Sam Darnold joined a special parade down Main Street, basking in their win alongside the crowds.

THE SAVANNAH BANANAS EXPAND THEIR DISNEYLAND LINEUP
Last year, the Savannah Bananas held their first ever “Bananas Day” at Disneyland, mingling in the park with fans and performing some of their famous antics.

The Bananas will be back again on March 26, and Disneyland has teased “an expanded partnership” with details coming in the next few weeks. So far, this is what we know:
- Player meet and greet opportunities
- Special banana flavored treats across the resort on March 26
- Sweepstakes for a 3 night stay at the resort and game tickets

For more information (at least what we have so far) about the Bananas visiting Disneyland, check out the Disney Parks Blog post here. And stay tuned for more updates, which should be announced later this month.
OTHER UPDATES
Disneyland just dropped the Food & Wine Festival foodie guide for this year! I’ll have a post with more details about the festival lineup next week.
Later this year, Disneyland will make a major improvement to the current reservation system, eliminating the 11 am park hopping restriction (meaning, you’ll no longer have to wait until after 11 to change parks). While many of us are still anxiously awaiting the elimination of reservations altogether, this is definitely a step in the right direction.
And finally, happy news for Monsters, Inc. fans. Disneyland has officially delayed construction on the new Avatar land, so the ride will remain open “into 2027”. You still have a little more time to enjoy a spin around Monstropolis!
