As the Disneyland Resort finishes its first month of the summer season, the crowds have flocked to the Jubilee by the masses. While there wasn’t much news in the way of refurbishments, closures, or future changes to either park, there were a few smaller arrivals that kept the Jubilee excitement going through the month.

This photo I took during the parade shows some of the décor along Main Street USA:

ENCHANTED WINDOWS DAZZLE

Main Street USA got in the Jubilee spirit this month with a series of beautiful window displays. The “enchanted windows” each showcase iconic moments from classic Disney animated films, and some even have special effects or moving pieces. Currently, there are window displays for Peter Pan and Cinderella, and Disney has announced future displays for Toy Story, Aladdin, Princess and the Frog, and Frozen, which will debut later in the summer.

CALIFORNIA ADVENTURE AT THE MOVIES

Two of Disney’s highly anticipated movies are hitting theaters this summer, and California Adventure is celebrating alongside fans. The Pixar Play Parade has added an Inside Out pre-parade float, including Joy, Sadness, and other friends from the newest Pixar film.

And over in A Bug’s Land, the It’s Tough To Be A Bug! show has gone dark. Instead, the theater has a temporary overlay and is showing a preview of Antman, the newest movie in the Marvel universe. Both the pre-parade float and the preview are expected to run throughout the summer season, with the Inside Out float likely becoming a permanent member of the parade.

OTHER UPDATES

Frontierland now has its own Diamond Jubilee photo spot, across from the entrance to Big Thunder Ranch. Guests can pile into a Thunder Mountain Railroad car and strike a pose during the wildest ride through the wilderness.

Downtown Disney, Big Thunder Ranch, and Grizzly Peak are starting to show red, white, and blue décor in preparation for the 4th of July. No official events have been announced yet, but the park traditionally holds a flag ceremony on Main Street USA and the band will be out in full force.

And finally, the walls are now down around Peter Pan’s Flight, with the windows covered by blue curtains. While Disney has not announced specific changes to the attraction, the park has promised “enhancements” and upgraded scenes. The highly anticipated reopening is scheduled for July 1st.
