There’s no denying it now – the Disneyland Resort is roaring back after a year of closure. More attractions are opening, the mask mandate ended, and we have a brand new land!
Let’s take a look back at June at the happiest place on earth.
NOW SEEKING RECRUITS AT AVENGERS CAMPUS

If you’ve been anywhere near social media, the Disney Parks Blog, or any morning shows on ABC, you know that this month marked the official opening of the Avengers themed land in California Adventure: Avenger’s Campus. So far, the land features 2 attractions, 1 main restaurant, and a mysterious sanctum…with flipping and fighting heroes running in between.
For a full recap of the land’s opening and offerings, check out my post here.

If you walk the back path in Cars Land, you’ll also see the road signs have been updated to reflect the new land. We see you, Stark Industries!
REOPENINGS CONTINUE

As COVID-19 restrictions ease in California, the resort has been able to open more restaurants and attractions. This month, the following spots have either reopened or announced a reopening:
Attractions
In addition, the state of California lifted its mask mandate on June 15. What does that mean for your Disney trip? With the exception of transportation (ALL buses to and from parking lots), fully vaccinated visitors no longer need to wear masks in the parks or in Downtown Disney, indoors or outdoors. All passengers on the buses to and from the parking lots must wear a mask, regardless of vaccination status – so if you’ll be taking the buses make sure you bring one with you!
DEMOLITION…IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY

In a somewhat bizarre move, Disneyland officially broke ground on the Runaway Railway in Toontown…in the middle of the day in full view of guests. The construction walls were not tall enough to conceal a bulldozer knocking down buildings, so right now Toontown isn’t quite the magically immersive experience it normally is.
OTHER UPDATES
This month marked the 40th anniversary of Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark. To celebrate, the shops in Adventureland are selling anniversary tees and Indiana Jones hats, while supplies last.
Though more rides continue to open, the Disneyland Resort is still not offering fast pass for any attraction. Single rider lines, however, did finally reopen this month.
And finally, I’ve been sharing this advice with quite a few readers through email, so I thought I’d share it here. Don’t forget to LOOK UP if you want to see characters. Stitch, Pirate Redd, some of the princesses, and the Evil Queen were all spotted this month hanging out on balconies above attractions in Tomorrowland, New Orleans Square, and Fantasyland. Disney is getting creative with socially distanced character interactions, and you might walk right by one without even noticing!
