It’s December, if you can believe it. Just one month left in 2023, and even those that don’t like celebrating the holidays prematurely are in full festive mode. Disneyland kicked off its holiday season with a mixed bag…some exciting new happenings, and some not-so-great developments. Let’s take a look at November at the resort.
THE ADVENTURELAND TREEHOUSE OPENS
The best news of the month came when the Adventureland Treehouse finally opened to the public.

I visited 2 days early hoping for a soft open, but no such luck. The pictures I’ve seen so far look stunning – and I can’t wait to see it in person.

I’m thrilled Disneyland decided to scrap noticeable franchise theming for this attraction and kept it to what the park does best: charm, detail, and a hint of nostalgia.

VETERANS DAY CAST MEMBER MARCH
On Veterans Day, veteran cast members participated in the special annual flag retreat ceremony. While the flag retreat happens daily, the Veterans Day one includes some special tributes. It starts with the veteran cast member march down Main Street, led by the US Marine First Division band.

To conclude the ceremony, US Air Force C-17 Globemaster III participated in a flyover above the castle and down the street.

To all veterans, including Disneyland cast members, thank you for your service.
OTHER UPDATES
We finally have a return date for Fantasmic!. The show will once again appear on the Rivers of America starting May 24, with new effects expected throughout.
If you follow anything Disneyland related on TikTok, you’ve probably already seen that there was an awkward incident on It’s A Small World this month. A guest climbed out of his boat, stripped naked, and walked throughout the attraction, climbing onto scenery before being removed by security. I’m not going to share any pictures here (following baseball game broadcast rules for streakers I guess!), but it’s easy to find online if you search for it.
And finally, you may have noticed increased security in the upper levels of the resort’s parking garages this month. Unfortunately, a 24-year-old man died after jumping off the structure on November 16. If you or someone you know is struggling, please call 988 or visit 988lifeline.org.
