Happy belated Thanksgiving! As 2024 races to the finish line, the Disneyland Resort did not slow down with new offerings, teasers of more to come, and as always, the usual pile of sweet treats to celebrate the holiday season. Let’s take a look back at November at the happiest place on earth.
A NEW HEADLINE ATTRACTION AND A NEW LAND
On November 15, Disneyland finally joined its east coast counterpart in opening Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. To mark the occasion, stars of Princess and the Frog Anika Noni Rose and Jenifer Lewis performed aboard the Mark Twain Riverboat. Attractions Magazine has a fantastic video of the performance:
The party then carried over to New Orleans Square, where Anika and Jenifer joined co-star Michael-Leon Wooley, Princess Tiana, and Louis the Alligator for a swinging celebration.

The attraction’s opening also ushered in a new era for the land, which is now officially known as Bayou Country.
HAUNTED MANSION FINISHES ITS LANDSCAPING
Just down the block from Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, the Haunted Mansion also showed off a new look for its gardens.

The new expanded queue has a lot more ambiance than its predecessor, not to mention many new hidden details like orbs, ravens, and abundant plants. The accessible queue has also been updated, with a new elevator making it possible for all guests to use the same main entrance to the attraction.

The carriage house, home to a future gift shop, will complete the grounds’ transformation later this winter. But for now, guests can enjoy a much more pleasant waiting experience.

NEW CONCEPT ART FOR DOWNTOWN DISNEY
In the last few months, I’ve shared numerous updates of new things coming to Downtown Disney. This month, we got some more detail about two new restaurants joining the area, which will reside on the former site of Tortilla Jo’s:
- Arthur & Sons Steak and Bourbon: a steakhouse with a central bar
- Pearl’s Roadside BBQ: a quick service BBQ joint with signature cocktails and craft beers
We don’t have a definitive opening date for either location yet, so as I’m used to saying by now…stay tuned.

This month, Disneyland publicized initial plans to expand Avengers Campus. This plan includes demolition permits for sections of the backstage area, indicating the long-awaited third attraction may finally be coming to the land.
