The transition from Halloween to the holidays at Disneyland comes fast. Like…blink and Main Street is suddenly wearing a sweater and offering peppermint everything fast. Starting tomorrow, bunting and pumpkins will quietly (and then not-so-quietly) disappear overnight, as garlands and twinkly lights take their place.
But October had plenty happening before the witch hats go back into storage. New bites, refreshed views, a beloved attraction returning to its original form, and a few meaningful celebrations mixed in. Let’s take a look back at October at the Happiest Place on Earth.
NEW EATS, SIGHTS, AND SOARING HEIGHTS
Earlier this month, Disney announced a new gastropub headed to Downtown Disney. Check out this (metaverse-esque and creepy if you ask me) concept art:

Gordon Ramsay at The Carnaby will be a ‘60s-London-themed gastropub sitting above the Earl of Sandwich with classics like beef Wellington, fish and chips, sticky toffee pudding, plus live music on select nights. As is typical with Disneyland announcements, we don’t have an opening date yet, so stay tuned!
Over in Fantasyland, a much smaller addition is making its way to the resort. Coming this summer, Rapunzel’s Tower will join the collection of miniatures inside Storybook Land Canal Boats.

On daytime boat rides, you’ll be able to hear When Will My Life Begin playing from the tower. And from sunset on, you’ll hear I See The Light.
And not to be left out, California Adventure announced a new attraction arriving this summer too.
MAKE-A-WISH KIDS CELEBRATE HALLOWEEN
This month, Make-A-Wish, Disney, and YouTuber MrBeast joined forces to grant 40 wishes to celebrate Halloween at the Disneyland Resort.

All of the kids on the trip got the chance to meet their favorite YouTubers, including MrBeast, A for Adley, Mark Rober, Chef Amaury Guichon, Doctor Mike, and Sam & Colby. Each YouTuber hosted a different activity, from a scavenger hunt to a live chocolate making demonstration. The day of fun ended with a special party in California Adventure’s Hollywood Backlot, complete with trick or treating, a dance floor, claw machine, and tons of games for the families to play together and create a little magic.

OTHER UPDATES
The month unfortunately started out with some sad news. On Monday Oct 6, a woman riding the Haunted Mansion was found unresponsive. Disneyland security began CPR, and she was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced deceased.
In brighter news, the Disneyland Resort just announced its 2025 holiday character guide, helping you find your favorite characters during one of the busiest season of the year. You can check the guide out here.
And finally, Disney Legend Bob Gurr turned 94 this month. His contributions to the resort are too lengthy to list here – in short, he designed or helped design nearly every one of the park’s oldest and most iconic attractions. Happy birthday Bob!
