Unlike Walt Disney World in Orlando, the Disneyland Resort does not have a vast collection of hotels to choose from on property. There are three hotels: the Grand Californian, the Disneyland Hotel, and Pixar Place Hotel, and all three are quite expensive. If you don’t want to spend that much on a hotel during your stay, Disney offers a program to help you narrow down off-property options: The Good Neighbor Hotel list.

A Good Neighbor Hotel is a hotel reasonably close to the resort “vetted” by Disney and is basically on their recommendation list as a good alternative to their own properties. Most of these hotels stretch along Harbor Boulevard in Anaheim, and many are either within walking distance to the resort or offer transportation to guests if they’re a bit further away.

These hotels have a number of benefits for resort visitors:

  • Vacation packages to bundle accommodation/tickets
  • Park tickets for sale at the hotel
  • Early park entry (for some packages)
  • Discounts on merchandise (for some packages)
  • Transportation to/from resort (for some packages)

While Good Neighbor Hotels are not owned by Disney, they’re partnered with the resort and act as a kind of middle ground between staying on-property or completely separately from the resort.
