I’m a little late to the party on this one, but one of my favorite events of the year is back in California Adventure, from now until February 15. This year’s Lunar New Year Celebration kicks off the year of the rabbit (or cat in the Vietnamese calendar), and any park guest can visit the party, no additional ticket required.

This annual celebration pays tribute to Chinese, Vietnamese, and Korean new year celebrations, celebrating with special entertainment and dining offerings. Pacific Wharf and Paradise Gardens Park transform into a street market, with pop up dining locations lining the major walkways. And in between rounds of snacks and drinks, you’ll be treated to additional fun:
- Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession – a daily parade featuring Mulan and Mushu
- Hurry Home – a special overlay World of Color show
- Character meet and greets – visit Mickey, Minnie, Mulan, and Mushu in Paradise Gardens, and Raya in the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail
- Lucky Wishing Wall – a place to make a wish and leave a message for the new year
- Craft and activity tables
- Shops in the area offering exclusive Lunar New Year merchandise
- Special performers including drummers and dancers
- Themed decor, including ornamental lanterns, strung lights, red and gold banners, and more!
