I always try to mix a little Disney magic into my day, but last Friday was a whole different level! I went to Mickey’s Halloween Party for the third time, and this one was the best one yet.
Mickey’s Halloween Party is an after-hours event than runs through September and October (full details here). Virtually every party sells out, but that doesn’t mean the crowds are crazy. We walked onto Big Thunder Mountain four times, had a 10 minute wait for Indiana Jones, and only a 30 minute wait for the Haunted Mansion Holiday. It was basically the equivalent of a slow, rainy day during normal park operation.
I have to admit, I didn’t stop to watch the parade. I was too busy running from land to land! But I did watch the Halloween Screams fireworks show from Tomorrowland. You can watch my periscope of the show here.
Knock knock…
My roommate and I dressed as peasant Cinderella and Briar Rose. Some of the cast members got really excited about our costumes, and we were basically floating on clouds the entire night. But the highlight was probably when ball Cinderella spotted peasant Cinderella. She grabbed her by the arm and said, “WALK WITH ME!”
We danced up and down Main Street (they play music throughout the park), trick-or-treated all over Frontierland and New Orleans Square, and marveled at the spooky fog covering the Rivers of America. But my favorite part of Mickey’s Halloween Party is the people watching. Some of the costumes groups come up with are incredibly creative and so well done.
I can’t say enough good things about Mickey’s Halloween Party. If you’ve never experienced it, I’d highly recommend you go at least once! Not everyone dresses up, and you can get as into the Halloween activities as you want. Some guests just use the event to take advantage of short lines, and others are there purely for trick-or-treating and meeting villains.
So though it’s a bit premature for the non-Disney world, Happy Halloween!
These costumes are ON POINT!!! love.
Thank you, Kalia!
