Note: this post covers Disneylandโ€™s refurbishment โ€œseasonโ€, from January-March. For current scheduled closures, please visitย here.

Disneyland has less and less of a “slow” season each year, but traditionally, this falls in the late winter. The park takes advantage of this lighter time by undergoing routine maintenance and refurbishments of many attractions. Therefore, January-March each year is unofficially refurbishment season.

Some refurbishments are predictable and consistent, while others wind up being far less predictable. In fact, new refurbishments frequently pop up on the list as the season progresses. So don’t be surprised if you check back to see additional closures not originally listed!

Disneyland rarely announces reopen dates until shortly before refurbishments end, so the dates listed below are very tentative. As Disney updates schedules and dates, I will update this post. It’s very, very common for refurbishment schedules to change a few times throughout the season. If you’re planning a trip to the resort during refurbishment season, just be patient and look at the bright side – smaller crowds.

This year, the castle will also go under scaffolding for refurbishment (starting January 17), to repair the roof, siding, and detailing.ย

DISNEYLAND HOTEL REFURBISHMENTS

Starting in January, the Disneyland Hotel’s pool and grounds will undergo some refurbishment. Tangaroa Terrace remains closed (though Trader Sam’s is open!), with no re-open date listed just yet. On January 7, the D-Ticket Pool, Monorail Pool, and Mickey & Minnie Spas will close as well, likely remaining closed until the spring.
