Disneyland is a magical place where characters from vastly different worlds come together to meet guests. But some of these characters aren’t just passing through; a few actually have homes in the park! There are tree houses, cabins, mansions, and palaces within the park, each with its own unique characteristics and features. The following is my list of the top 5 Disneyland homes. Which ones are your favorites?
5. Mickey’s House
It should be no surprise that the mouse himself calls Disneyland home. Toontown is a busy city center, and Mickey is just one of its many residents. His house at the center of the street is a bright and cheerful home, filled to the brim with antiques and photos of his friends. And don’t forget to look up at the mountains behind the house for a toon version of the Hollywood sign!
4. Minnie’s House
Just next door to Mickey’s home is Minnie’s own cozy cottage. Her love of pink and heart-shaped everything makes for a sweet and feminine retreat. Minnie invites visitors into her home daily to explore her living room, bedroom, and kitchen, and her friends are always welcome to chat with her in the backyard. Miss Minnie’s house is a quaint spot, the perfect place to unwind after racing around Toontown.
3. Toad Hall
Thaddeus Toad is a boisterous but cultured English gentleman, and his stately manor suits his personality quite well. Along the exterior of Toad Hall, you’ll find the Toad family crest, as well as those of his dearest friends. Inside the Hall, you can visit Toad’s grand library, complete with hand-painted murals, wooden busts, and swinging chandeliers.
2. Haunted Mansion
Though gangs of pirates have taken over the underworld of New Orleans Square, the town itself is still very much a traditional southern city. Visitors enjoy antique shops, Cajun food, mint julep, and riverboat rides. And at the end of the square, you’ll find a classic mansion. But like the rest of New Orleans Square, dark secrets lie beneath the surface. If you dare enter the mansion for a tour, don’t be surprised if you feel a strange presence as the doors close behind you.
1. Sleeping Beauty Castle
How could I pick anything else for #1? Aurora’s elegant palace is the most iconic building in the park. That’s real gold you see on the turrets, and the castle’s winding moat is home to a family of ducks. For a closer look, you can tour the winding stone halls and peer in the enchanted windows, or simply enjoy the breathtaking views from across the stately drawbridge. Sleeping Beauty Castle is Disneyland’s centerpiece, and definitely the most beautiful building in the park. The other princesses must be very jealous!
Yeah! Mr. Toad!
