One of the most common questions I’m asked is, “what’s in my park bag?” My answer is: not much. I don’t have kids and I generally visit with groups of friends, so I don’t have to worry about bottles or medication or other things larger families might need to bring. But I do pack differently depending on if I’m doing a day trip or staying overnight.

Here are my two types of bags I bring into the Happiest Place on Earth!

Option A – Overnight Trip

What's In My Park Bag?

When I visit Disneyland, my mantra is “less is more”. I have a really small Vera Bradley bag (it’s machine washable!), and it only has room for the essentials. In my bag, I have a small wallet, my sunglasses, my phone, a few hair ties, and hand sanitizer. Every couple trips I take pictures in bulk, so on those trips I’ll also bring a camera. Anything else stays in the hotel – layers, chargers, etc.

Option B – Day Trip

Confession time: I bring TWO bags to the park for a day trip. Since I can’t keep essentials in a hotel, I bring a drawstring bag to hold my extras. I rent a locker on Main Street USA or Buena Vista Street, and take only my smaller purse into the park (with the same stuff as in Option A). In the locker, I keep a sweatshirt, sunblock, a few bandaids, an extra pair of socks (if I’m going on wet rides), and a hairbrush. If you are ok with leaving your phone in your locker for a while, I’d also recommend throwing in a portable charger too.

    • Thanks, Livia! I love it too. Especially that it’s machine washable; it touches lots of dirty surfaces at the park!
