Welcome to Ask The Duchess – Vol. 76, a monthly Q&A post covering a variety of resort-related topics. Ask The Duchess answers questions submitted by readers. If you have a question you’d like answered, send me a message here.
1. Why is Star Tours in Tomorrowland if Star Wars Land is a separate area? (submitted by Li)
Star Tours existed in Tomorrowland long before Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge ever came on the scene. Will the attraction ever move to Galaxy’s Edge? I can’t say for sure, but it doesn’t seem too likely. Tomorrowland in Disneyland desperately needs some TLC and design updates, so I’m guessing this issue will be addressed when the time comes for a land refresh.
2. Is there a reason so many people get in lines in person to buy tickets vs. buying online? (submitted by Noelle)
Back in the era of annual passes, you had to go in person to get your physical pass. But unless you don’t have access to the internet, there’s no advantage to buying tickets in person. In fact, I’d say the advantage comes buying them online, because you skip the physical line and can go straight to the park gates.
3. What happens first, Fantasmic! or the fireworks? (submitted by Jim)
Most of the time, the first performance of Fantasmic! ends right as the fireworks begin, and then the second performance of Fantasmic! starts shortly after the fireworks conclude.
4. What’s a ride you’d never wait more than 30 minutes for? (submitted by Penn)
Never is a strong word (on brutally crowded days, you sometimes have no choice), but I’d say I would almost never wait in line more than 30 minutes for Winnie the Pooh, Autopia, or the Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind.
5. Are popcorn and churros equally easy to find around the parks, or is one easier to get on the other? (submitted by Carlos)
They’re available in virtually every land equally – you’ll never have a hard time finding the one you’re in the mood for.
