1. As a first time Disneyland visitor, I’m trying to weigh prioritizing California Adventure over Disneyland because it seems very similar to the Magic Kingdom. What are your thoughts on this? (submitted by Alex)

This is really hard to answer because it’s so subjective. California Adventure is truly not comparable to any of the Florida parks, so I think it’s important for a first time visitor to spend time there. But Disneyland has a LOT that’s remarkably different from the Magic Kingdom, like Indiana Jones, the Matterhorn, and Mickey’s Toontown. I guess I’d say put California Adventure first, but don’t abandon Disneyland altogether. I actually have a dedicated post with tips for Disney World fans visiting Disneyland for the first time – you can check it out here.

2. I am attending a halloween party and am wearing a costume, am I allowed to wear the costume on rides? (submitted by Chacen)

Overall, yes. However, if your costume has a head piece or accessories that stick out, the cast members may ask you to remove those items. And if you have a big tail or bulky costume that doesn’t quite fit into a normal seat, you may not be allowed to ride.

3. How do you usually entertain yourself in line? (submitted by Mila)

I try really hard not to be a phone zombie during downtime at Disneyland, and be present in the moment. I’ll generally talk to friends, snack, or even chat a bit with line neighbors to pass the time. That being said, there are two times I’ll pull out my phone in line. One, to use my phone’s camera if I’m in a queue with any interesting features. And two, to take a quick peek at wait times if I’m not sure where I’m headed in the park next.

4. Best burger at the resort? (submitted by Nicholas)

For me, it’s the brunch burger at Lamplight Lounge!

5. Have you ever snuck in an item to Disneyland that’s technically banned? (submitted by Emmaleigh)

If the answer is yes, why on earth would I admit that publicly?!
