Welcome to Ask The Duchess – Vol. 88, a monthly Q&A post covering a variety of resort-related topics. Ask The Duchess answers questions submitted by readers. If you have a question you’d like answered, send me a message here.

1. Are you going to expand your posts to guides for the other parks like Epcot or Animal Kingdom? (submitted by Kathleen)

This blog is just focused on the Disneyland Resort in California – Epcot and Animal Kingdom are at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. Some tips and tricks generally apply across the parks, but otherwise – I don’t know enough about Disney World to blog about it (plus I’ve got plenty to write about as is!).

2. Have you been to any international parks? How do they compare to the US parks? (submitted by Leigh)

I have not. It’s hard for me to imagine spending time on an international trip in a Disney park vs. seeing the country/city I’m visiting. But that being said, I would LOVE to see Tokyo DisneySea in person someday if the opportunity presents itself. That park seems absolutely unbelievable.

3. Do I have to pre-register to use the baby care center on Main Street? How much does it cost? (submitted by Dawna)

The baby care center is completely free, and you don’t need to pre-register! Just head over when you and your baby need it.

4. Can you rent segways in addition to electric wheelchairs for use in the park? (submitted by Lora)

Nope, and a segway would not be allowed in if you rented it from off-property.

5. If I buy a drink in California Adventure or Downtown Disney but I’m not done drinking it, can I bring it into Disneyland even though drinks are more restricted there? (submitted by Sarah)

In Downtown Disney you can’t roam around with a drink the way you can in California Adventure, so you won’t really have an opportunity to carry it from there into Disneyland. For California Adventure, the rule is that you’re not supposed to take alcoholic drinks out of the park. In most cases, cast members at the turnstiles will ask you to finish or throw your drink away before exiting. If they don’t, you will be asked to throw it away before being scanned in at the Disneyland gate.
