Buena Vista Street is California Adventure’s primary nostalgia spot. Guests here can enjoy handmade sweets, listen to the 5 & Dime, or hop on the Red Car Trolley. Like Main Street, Buena Vista Street’s nostalgia doesn’t fully extend into the shops; virtually every retail space sells the newest Disney goods. But one shop has a nod to shopping of yesteryear: the Old Fashioned Candy Vending Machine.
Wander into Trolley Treats on the corner of the esplanade, and you’ll see rows and rows of candies. But follow the back wall on the right side, and you’ll see a special vending machine.
All of a sudden, you’re not shopping in the 21st century. It’s 1920!
Sadly, the Old Fashioned Candy Vending Machine doesn’t dispense any goodies anymore. It’s retired, instead serving as a tribute to the shop’s intended era. Wouldn’t it be great if you could still buy candies in California Adventure for a dime?
This is seriously so fun! I love it!
Oh this is so fun!
