I write a lot about hidden gems on this blog; they’re forever my favorite part of Disneyland. And sometimes, those hidden gems are especially exciting to find…because they only appear for a limited window each year. Today’s post is about one of those seasonal details…the Brakes Motel.

To find this hidden gem, start at the Cozy Cone in Cars Land.

Cozy Cone Motel

In Sally’s Office in the back, you’ll notice a spooky model of the Cozy Cone…with something unusual about it (and not just that it’s black and white).

This model pays tribute to the Bates Motel, the infamous setting of Alfred Hitchcock’sย Psycho. The model even includes a house at the top of the hill, just like killer Norman Bates’ frightful home. You can still visit the set of the motel and house on a Universal Studios backlot tour in Universal City, CA!

As both a Hitchcock fan AND a hidden gem-obsessed park visitor, this is one of my favorite details you can find during Halloween!
