If you’ve ever visited Galaxy’s Edge, you’ve probably spent a little time in the Millennium Falcon. Smuggler’s Run was the land’s first ride, and the whole experience of sitting in the same spot as Han Solo, Chewy, and the rest of the gang is an incredible feeling for Star Wars fans. And when the ride ends, you wind through a few hallways in the hangar before heading back into Batuu’s bustling streets. But before you race out of the building, don’t forget to look around you.
On some of the walls of the hangar, you’ll see mysterious creatures seemingly frozen in time.
These are rathtars, underwater creatures appearing in The Force Awakens. They’re frozen in carbonite – the very same substance Darth Vader uses to trap Han Solo in The Empire Strikes Back.
The carbonite wall is one of those details 90% of guests won’t notice or think twice about, which is why I love it! The best hidden gems within Disneyland are like that; waiting for you to find them while hiding in plain sight.
