China Closet

March 1964 – present

LOCATION

Main Street USA – The China Closet stands on the east side of the street, near the end by the central hub. To find the shop, head toward the castle. You’ll see the first entrance on your right, just after the porch. Alternatively, turn the corner as the street ends and you’ll see a second entrance, just beyond the Photo Supply Co.

EXPERIENCE

Details:

  • Merchandise – Ornaments, mugs, plates, figurines, other glass wares and home décor (includes lots of seasonal décor)
  • Price Range – Huge range, with smaller collectibles under $20 up to more expensive glassware over $200
  • Unique Features – Front porch with chairs overlooking Main Street, “Palm Parlor” marquee above the porch

Disneyland’s China Closet is a sneaky little shop – it hides behind decorative elements like the Photo Supply Co. marquee and its inviting front porch. This shop sells a huge selection of glass (and a few non-glass) decorative items. Check out the huge floor to ceiling mug wall for a new collectible or browse the tables and bookshelves for some finer Disney souvenirs.

SHOPPING TIPS

I like to swing by this shop on my way out of the park. Since most of the items available here are breakable, I’d rather not carry them around all day (unless I’m renting a locker – then I’ll stop by earlier and drop them off). This shop is also a good place to stop if you’re interested in seasonal décor, or want to look at the newest mugs available for purchase!

TRIVIA

The China Closet replaced the Ruggles China and Glass Shop – making this one of the only retail spaces on the street selling the same type of goods since 1955.

In the early days, guests used to enter the shop from the porch. Today, this door is sealed to make a rest area, with the shop’s entrance next door.

    • Hi Alexandra! This is not a contact page for this shop (or any shop) at Disneyland; I run a fan blog not associated with the resort. For customer service help, please contact the resort directly: (877) 560-6477.
