Fantasyland – Merlin’s Marvelous Miscellany faces the castle courtyard, in a prime spot next to Peter Pan’s Flight. To find the shop, walk over the castle drawbridge and through the archway, and it will be the first building on your right.

If you’re looking for a little souvenir in Fantasyland, or just appreciate elaborately decorated shops, Merlin’s Marvelous Miscellany is a great stop to add to your day. Here you’ll see an eclectic mix of Merlin’s potions, papers, and artifacts, stored above a small selection of tees, pins, and other accessories. When you’re done shopping, you can hop across the courtyard and see if Merlin gave you any magic to lift the sword out of the stone.
SHOPPING TIPS
I like visiting this store best right after I do the Sleeping Beauty Castle Walkthrough; the entrance is right next to the walkthrough’s exit point, and the detailed decor almost feels like a mini walkthrough attraction itself. The shop is quite small, so it doesn’t take long to see the whole thing.
Otherwise, my recommendation would be to avoid this area at all costs from 45 minutes before fireworks time until 30 minutes after; there’s a mad rush of crowds (and cast member directed clearing out), which makes navigating to and from the shop a nightmare.
TRIVIA
This location has been home to many stores in its lifetime, including the Castle Holiday Shoppe, Castle Heraldry Shoppe, and Villain’s Lair.
Above the doorway you’ll see the words “Higitus figitus migitus mum prestidigitonium”. This is part of the spell Merlin uses to pack his things in Sword in the Stone.
In the upper corner with the jousting lance, you’ll see a bird house. This is home to Archimedes, Merlin’s grumpy owl (though Archimedes doesn’t seem to be home much).
