December 1992 – present
LOCATION
Fantasyland – The It’s A Small World Toy Shop meets up with the attraction exit. Head toward Mickey’s Toontown, past the Matterhorn. You’ll see the gift shop to the left of the Small World entrance; it’s the open gazebo.
EXPERIENCE
Details:
- Merchandise – Small World, Fantasyland, and princess-themed toys and collectibles
- Price Range – Most items under $20, with a few toy sets over $50
- Unique Features – roof and décor match the It’s A Small World façade, giant princess castle above the shelves
At the It’s A Small World Toy Shop, you’ll find dolls, plush toys, magic wands and more. This tiny store has tons of merchandise for your little ones, with many Small World collectibles mixed in. If your little one wants to bring a toy home from the happiest place on earth, this shop is an excellent place to explore.
SHOPPING TIPS
The easiest way to visit this shop would be on your way out of It’s A Small World, since the shop strategically lines up with the attraction’s exit. But if you don’t want to ride, I’d recommend visiting after dark. This area quiets down dramatically after sunset, and most of the time, this shop will be a ghost town, making for easy browsing.
TRIVIA
The It’s A Small World Toy Shop appeared in 1992, after Mattel became the official sponsor. (Thus, so many Barbies for sale inside!)
Is there a Small World toy shop online?
Or is there any online site where you can purchase Small World collectibles?
The only online store for any parks shops is shopDisney.com; they do have some Small World items sometimes, but their parks collection is fairly limited. Otherwise, you unfortunately have to be at the park to get the full range of merchandise.
In 19890, the shop was there, but it was not a Mattel shop yet. I bought a lovely wooden Swedish doll music box there that I adored. The doll looked like me with my blonde hair. I gave it to my beloved neighbors to remember me when I moved away. Ever since, I have been hoping to replace it. Fond, fond memories!
Edit: 1980
What a nice memory! And a souvenir I don’t blame you for missing 🙂
I like that this shop is open air. It’s cheerful and I think the matched architecture to the attraction avoids it being a typical gift shop eyesore.
I agree!
