The Milk Bar

May 2019 – present

LOCATION

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge – The Milk Stand is tucked away in Galaxy’s Edge’s eastern corner, the one controlled by the First Order. To find the stand, head over to the Frontierland entrance closest to Fantasyland. You’ll see the Stand on your left, across the walkway from First Order Cargo. If you’re coming from the Rise of the Resistance side of the land, keep heading down the main walkway, and keep right at the marketplace. You’ll see the Milk Stand on your left just as the path opens up into the larger square.

If you’ve been itching to try the blue milk you saw Luke drink in A New Hope, or the green milk he drank in The Last Jedi, the Milk Stand is your chance. This little spot in Galaxy’s Edge serves both varieties – no milking required! Just stop by the counter, choose your color, and enjoy your drink as you roam Black Spire Outpost.

MY RATING: ★☆☆☆☆

I have to be honest…I don’t get it. Do people get the milk just for the Instagram pics? The texture is actually really nice – the closest comparison I can think of to a theme park drink is Butterbeer from the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Not quite as thick as a root beer float, but thicker than a typical soda. But I personally found the taste of both flavors just weird. Not quite citrus, not quite sweet. I apologize, but I genuinely don’t know how on earth to describe the favor better than that! It’s a mystery. I did like the blue a tiny bit better than the green (it was just a little bit sweeter), but I would not recommend either. And I’m sorry, but $8 for a little cup of “milk” is just ridiculous.

TRIVIA

Both milk varieties are plant-based, and do not contain any dairy.

According to Star Wars lore, blue milk comes from Banthas (on Tattooine), and green milk comes from Thala-Sirens (on Ahch-To).
