Napa Rose

January 2001 – present

LOCATION

Grand Californian – Napa Rose is the Grand Californian’s signature restaurant. If you’re coming from the hotels’ central atrium, follow the walkway past Acorn Gifts & Goods toward the pools. Keep going straight and you’ll see Napa Rose straight ahead, very close to the hotel’s private entrance to California Adventure.

EXPERIENCE

Details:

  • Service Type – table service
  • Seating – indoor dining room
  • Reservations – yes
  • Entertainment – none
  • Menu

If you’re looking for a fine dining experience celebrating the best of California, Napa Rose is your spot. Whether you follow the prix fixe menu or order a la carte, you’ll be transported straight to wine country. Napa Rose is known for its great cocktails, savory dishes, and an unbeatable wine cellar.

One important note: this restaurant has a loose dress code. They ask that guests dress “appropriately for wine country ambiance”, and ask for no hats, swimwear, tank tops, cut off shorts, or distressed jeans.

MY RATING: ★★★★

Napa Rose has really great food and drinks, and I like the open atmosphere in the restaurant and bar area. I knocked it down one star mostly because of the price; it’s very expensive for a fairly generic restaurant decor-wise (no disrespect meant to loyal fans!). If I’m paying that much for a dining experience, I personally would prefer Carthay Circle for the atmosphere. But don’t get me wrong – the food is great. If you want to splurge on a meal and are staying at the resort, this is a wonderful option.

TRIVIA

Napa Rose’s decor and menu are both inspired by Californian wine country, with design influences from Scottish art nouveau designer Charles Rennie Mackintosh.

This restaurant has won numerous culinary awards over the years, including the AAA Four Diamond award for eight years in a row.

  1. I had a lovely meal here some years ago. Napa Rose is a real treat for special occasions. However, like you, I prefer the Carthay Circle in California Adventure for atmosphere (the food is good too!)
