LOCATION
Paradise Pier Hotel – The Surfside Lounge was easy to find inside the Paradise Pier Hotel, right next to the lobby. To find the lobby from Downtown Disney, you would follow the main street walkway past the Disneyland Hotel, and turn right when the path opened up to the building with waves on it.
EXPERIENCE
Looking for breakfast, a quick snack, or a refreshing drink on your way into the parks? Perhaps you’re exhausted after a day of park hopping and looking for one last bite before you call it a night. In either case, the Surfside Lounge was there to help. Serving a massive breakfast, lunch, and drink menu, the Lounge had something to make everyone in your group happy.
CLOSURE
This bar closed alongside the rest of the Paradise Pier Hotel in 2023, to make way for the transformation into the Pixar Place Hotel. The new hotel opened in January 2024, with its primary restaurant being Great Maple.
TRIVIA
My original rating: The Surfside Lounge serves the same breakfast items you can find in the rest of Downtown Disney or even in the parks, so it’s not worth visiting if you’re looking for a special dining experience. However, its location within the hotel makes it super convenient, especially if you don’t want to do an expensive character breakfast. It’s also extremely convenient since it’s got a completely different breakfast, lunch/dinner, and late night menu, so you’ve always got new options at different times of the day. I would rate this restaurant two stars for ambiance, and four stars for convenience, averaging a total of three stars. (★★★☆☆)
Surfside Lounge was one of only three locations at the resort where you could get beignets! The other two were the Jazz Kitchen and the Mint Julep Bar.
