LOCATION

Paradise Pier Hotel – The PCH Grill was Paradise Pier Hotel’s central dining spot. Guests entering the lobby of the hotel would find the restaurant at the end of the hallway, on the opposite side from the front desk. As of writing this post, this space remains vacant and no replacement restaurant has been announced.

EXPERIENCE

For guests staying at the Paradise Pier Hotel, PCH Grill was the place to dine while visiting with their favorite characters. This spot offered a seaside breakfast hosted by Donald Duck (alongside other friends) and a dinner buffet. At breakfast (by far the most popular dining option), characters including Donald, Mickey, Daisy, Goofy, and Pluto would roam from table to table as guests enjoyed Mickey waffles and custom omelettes. And in the evening, the breakfast buffet was replaced with a heartier dinner buffet, though the characters took a break after sundown.

CLOSURE

Like the rest of the resort, Paradise Pier Hotel closed due to COVID-19 in March of 2020. When the resort began phased openings in 2021, fans were surprised to see that the PCH Grill did not reopen alongside the rest of the hotel. In July 2021, employees got confirmation that the restaurant would not reopen, ending its 20 year run.

TRIVIA

The restaurant’s name, PCH, is an acronym for the Pacific Coast Highway, California’s state route running along the coastline.

During the holidays, PCH would offer a special themed menu.

    • To my knowledge, Disneyland hasn’t announced any plans for it. With the hotel transforming into a Pixar Theme, it may become a Pixar restaurant. But I’m not aware of anything yet.
