Wetzel's Pretzels

January 2001 – present

LOCATION

Downtown Disney – Wetzel’s Pretzels claims an ideal corner spot next to the Uva Bar. To find it, head toward the center of Downtown Disney, near Marceline’s and Catal. You’ll find Wetzel’s on the north side, after the path around Uva narrows from an open circle.

Looking for a salty snack as you wander Downtown Disney? Wetzel’s has tons of varieties of pretzels, snacks, and drinks. My recommendation – grab a pretzel and head next door to the Uva Bar for an accompanying drink and some people watching. It’s the perfect way to enjoy the sights and sounds of Downtown Disney.

MY RATING – ★★★☆☆

Personally, I think Auntie Annie’s makes better pretzels in general. But since they don’t have a location in Downtown Disney, Wetzel’s is a great second choice. Their pretzels are the perfect size if you’re a little hungry, but really don’t want a whole meal (or if you’ve over indulged in sweets and are craving something salty!).

Pro tip – grab a pretzel, and enjoy it on the esplanade between Disneyland and California Adventure during the fireworks. You’ll get a decent view for not having camped out in the park, and the snack is easy to carry with you!

MY FAVORITES

  • Grateful Garlic Pretzel
  • Sinful Cinnamon Bitz

TRIVIA

Wetzel’s Pretzels stays open later than most Downtown Disney shops and restaurants; it closes at 1 am (only the bars close later, at 2 am).

The co-founder of Wetzel’s, Rick Wetzel, was a Disneyland cast member! He worked as a Jungle Cruise skipper in the late 1980s.
